Winona has been having an annual Dixieland event since 1987. The Non-profit Upper Mississippi Jazz Society has been formed to keep up the tradition. We have been having a festival with three or more Dixieland bands, curently on the last Saturday of July. We also have a monthly meeting, 1st Sunday of month [April - November], at the Black Horse Bar and Grill, 5 - 7 pm, with Dixieland band entertainment.

The monthly meeting of the Upper Mississippi Jazz Society will be at the Black Horse Bar  & Grill, One mile South of Winona off Hwy 61

The Gate City Jazz Band will entertain from 5 - 7 pm.

There is no cover charge, but the Upper Mississippi Jazz Society will pass the hat at intermission to help pay the musicians.

Food and drink will be available from the Black Horse,
 
The 37th Annual Dixieland Jazz Festival will be on  July 27, 2023 at the Crossings Center in Lewiston
(170 S. Fremont Street)(I90, exit 242).
It will be from noon-7;00 pm, with Seven Rivers Jazz Band, Pearl Street Banjo Band and the Gate City Jazz Band.

The Crossings will provide a Dance Band for your entertainment following the Festival.

The Crossings has added a very nice area with tables and chairs, covered by a roof for rain or shine events.

They also have a jungle gym, basketball court, hay ride, and games such as corn hole.

An eight piece band from Winona, entertaining us since 1978 with New Orleans style Dixieland and other toe tapping music.
